Field Service Foreman – Turbomachinery, Rotating Equipment

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Lead and oversee millwrights, mechanics, and subcontractors during field service projects.

β€’ Develop daily work plans, delegate tasks, and ensure the safe and efficient execution of projects.

β€’ Maintain responsibility for workmanship quality, adherence to schedules, safety performance, and customer satisfaction.

β€’ Conduct pre-job meetings, safety briefings, and toolbox discussions.

β€’ Manage the disassembly, inspection, repair, reassembly, installation, and commissioning of turbomachinery and rotating equipment.

β€’ Provide technical direction during maintenance and overhaul activities involving steam turbines, gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, pumps, gearboxes, expanders, and auxiliary rotating equipment.

β€’ Verify critical measurements, tolerances, clearances, and alignment according to OEM specifications.

β€’ Act as the main field liaison between customers, Project Managers, Technical Advisors, and field teams.

β€’ Report on project progress, technical discoveries, manpower needs, and schedule updates.

β€’ Assist with outage planning, work scope development, and field execution strategies.

β€’ Supervise machinery installation, precision shaft alignment, mechanical fit-up, and commissioning tasks.

β€’ Ensure all tasks comply with OEM procedures, engineering drawings, and customer specifications.

β€’ Complete and review field reports, inspection records, check sheets, and daily progress documentation.

β€’ Maintain quality standards throughout all phases of project execution.

β€’ Ensure proper use and accountability of company tools and equipment at job sites.

β€’ Foster and uphold a robust safety culture.

β€’ Lead permit activities and ensure adherence to customer and company safety protocols.

β€’ Guarantee that crews comply with all site-specific requirements, regulations, and safe work practices.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ A minimum of 5+ years of field service experience supporting turbomachinery and rotating equipment.

β€’ At least 2+ years of experience leading field crews in roles such as Foreman, Lead Millwright, Lead Mechanic, or a similar supervisory position.

β€’ Proven experience with steam turbines, gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, pumps, gearboxes, and related rotating equipment.

β€’ Experience with equipment from major OEMs such as Baker Hughes, Siemens Energy, GE Vernova, Mitsubishi Power, Solar Turbines, Elliott Group, MAN Energy Solutions, Dresser-Rand, or Atlas Copco.

β€’ Strong understanding of precision measurement, shaft alignment, and rotating equipment overhaul practices.

β€’ Proficient in reading and interpreting OEM manuals, engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

β€’ Excellent communication, leadership, and customer interaction skills.

β€’ Competence in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Teams.
