
Field Service Foreman – Reciprocating Compressors

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana, +1 more state.
• Supervise and lead mechanics, millwrights, and subcontractors during field service operations.
• Develop daily work plans, allocate tasks, and ensure safe and efficient execution of projects.
• Maintain responsibility for workmanship quality, adherence to schedules, safety performance, and customer satisfaction.
• Facilitate pre-job meetings, safety briefings, and toolbox discussions.
• Oversee the disassembly, inspection, repair, reassembly, installation, and commissioning of reciprocating compressors.
• Lead maintenance and overhaul tasks involving:
• Verify essential measurements, tolerances, bearing clearances, rod runout, piston rod alignment, and frame geometry according to OEM specifications.
• Act as the primary field liaison between customers, Project Managers, Technical Advisors, and field crews.
• Relay project progress, technical findings, manpower needs, and schedule updates.
• Assist in outage planning, work scope development, and field execution strategies.
• Oversee compressor installation, mechanical fit-up, precision alignment, and commissioning processes.
• Support startup activities, operational checks, and performance validation.
• Ensure all tasks are completed following OEM procedures, engineering drawings, and customer specifications.
• Complete and evaluate field reports, inspection records, check sheets, and daily progress documentation.
• Maintain quality standards throughout all project execution phases.
• Confirm proper use and accountability of company tools and equipment at job sites.
• Promote and uphold a strong safety culture.
• Lead permit processes and ensure compliance with both customer and company safety protocols.
• Ensure crews adhere to all site-specific requirements, regulations, and safe work practices.
• At least 5 years of field service experience with reciprocating compressors.
• A minimum of 2 years in a leadership role overseeing field crews as a Foreman, Lead Mechanic, Lead Millwright, or similar supervisory position.
• Proven experience in conducting major overhauls, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on reciprocating compressors.
• Familiarity with one or more major compressor OEM platforms, including:
• Strong understanding of compressor frame geometry, piston rod runout, bearing inspections, valve maintenance, packing replacement, and compressor performance fundamentals.
• Ability to read and comprehend OEM manuals, engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Strong communication, leadership, and customer interaction skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Teams.
• Must be willing and able to travel frequently to customer locations across Texas, Louisiana, and the United States.
• Must be able to support extended field assignments, outages, and emergency response work as needed.
• Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime depending on customer and project demands.
