This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Serve as a representative of Oxford Instruments by providing exceptional technical support, installation, and maintenance of advanced microscopy systems across North and South America.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of designated systems and options, ensuring adherence to factory specifications.
• Carry out scheduled and urgent maintenance tasks with accuracy.
• Foster trust and develop long-lasting relationships through effective communication and practical training.
• Troubleshoot intricate hardware and software problems using specialized tools.
• Calibrate essential components and apply performance-enhancing upgrades to guarantee optimal system reliability and efficiency.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Life Science, or a related technical discipline.
• 3–5 years of hands-on field service experience in the microscopy or analytical instrumentation sector.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as digital multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• A strong passion for computer hardware architecture and system components along with knowledge of the configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting of the Windows operating system.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical, electrical, and system integration schematics.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, a passport, and the ability to travel independently.
• Should be physically agile and comfortable working in confined or challenging spaces.
• Capable of lifting and managing equipment weighing up to 50 lbs independently.
• Willingness to undertake extensive weekday travel to meet customer installation and service requirements, from Monday to Friday.
