Field Safety Specialist – Utility Line Clearance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Deliver field support services and assist safety leadership, regional managers, supervisors, and team members in the implementation and enforcement of safety and health policies.

• Provide daily compliance assistance.

• Perform routine compliance inspections, observations, field inspections, site assessments, and collaborative compliance walks.

• Create and deliver safety-related training programs, including orientation for new hires.

• Mentor employees and contract partners regarding safe and unsafe conditions.

• Act as the field safety liaison with utility and client representatives.

• Document any deficiencies and devise sustainable corrective measures.

• Engage in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the identification of corrective actions.

• Analyze safety data and metrics to spot trends and suggest corrective measures.

• Exercise stop-work authority in the presence of unsafe conditions.

• Recommend disciplinary measures for safety violations.

• Identify, assess, and coordinate innovative methods to enhance safety improvements.

• Maintain accurate safety records.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in utility vegetation management, line clearance, or arboriculture.

• Preferred: Associate's degree in occupational safety, safety management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience.

• A valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record that meets company and insurance standards.

• Current First Aid/CPR certification, or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire.

• Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI Z133, DOT, and other relevant regulatory standards.

• Previous experience as a field general foreman, crew foreman, or trainer is advantageous.

• OSHA 30-Hour certification is preferred.

• Preferred certifications include CUSP, CTSP, ISA Certified Arborist, or ISA Utility Specialist, or a willingness to obtain one.

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.

• Capability to deliver group presentations and training sessions.

• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively under tight deadlines.

• Competence in thoroughly documenting field observations, incident findings, and corrective actions.

• Willingness to travel to job sites and work outdoors under various weather conditions.

• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.

• Proficient in using tablets, laptops, safety applications, GPS, and Microsoft Office.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
