
Field Safety Specialist β Utility Line Clearance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +1 more state.
β’ Deliver field support services and assist safety leadership, regional managers, supervisors, and team members in the implementation and enforcement of safety and health policies.
β’ Provide daily compliance assistance.
β’ Perform routine compliance inspections, observations, field inspections, site assessments, and collaborative compliance walks.
β’ Create and deliver safety-related training programs, including orientation for new hires.
β’ Mentor employees and contract partners regarding safe and unsafe conditions.
β’ Act as the field safety liaison with utility and client representatives.
β’ Document any deficiencies and devise sustainable corrective measures.
β’ Engage in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the identification of corrective actions.
β’ Analyze safety data and metrics to spot trends and suggest corrective measures.
β’ Exercise stop-work authority in the presence of unsafe conditions.
β’ Recommend disciplinary measures for safety violations.
β’ Identify, assess, and coordinate innovative methods to enhance safety improvements.
β’ Maintain accurate safety records.
β’ 1β3 years of experience in utility vegetation management, line clearance, or arboriculture.
β’ Preferred: Associate's degree in occupational safety, safety management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience.
β’ A valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record that meets company and insurance standards.
β’ Current First Aid/CPR certification, or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire.
β’ Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI Z133, DOT, and other relevant regulatory standards.
β’ Previous experience as a field general foreman, crew foreman, or trainer is advantageous.
β’ OSHA 30-Hour certification is preferred.
β’ Preferred certifications include CUSP, CTSP, ISA Certified Arborist, or ISA Utility Specialist, or a willingness to obtain one.
β’ Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.
β’ Capability to deliver group presentations and training sessions.
β’ Ability to prioritize tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
β’ Competence in thoroughly documenting field observations, incident findings, and corrective actions.
β’ Willingness to travel to job sites and work outdoors under various weather conditions.
β’ Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
β’ Proficient in using tablets, laptops, safety applications, GPS, and Microsoft Office.
β’ Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
