This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Perform both virtual and in-person investigations by visiting policyholders’ homes to evaluate property damage, ascertain liability, assess the extent of loss, and negotiate equitable settlements.
• Utilize claims management software, a company vehicle, and a laptop to assess claims-related damage and generate estimates in a paperless setting.
• Analyze and report on possible subrogation opportunities.
• Report incidents of theft, fraud, or arson to the relevant state and industry authorities.
• Execute tasks independently, with work having a direct influence on management decisions.
• Serve as a company representative in public engagements, upholding a professional demeanor that aligns with management standards.
• Regularly interact with a diverse range of stakeholders, including policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud and arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other pertinent parties.
• Employ strong customer service abilities to negotiate settlements with policyholders.
• Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
• Promote safety at all times and adhere to safety and ergonomic standards as specified in relevant company manuals.
• Employees assigned to the Catastrophe team will be required to travel away from their home for a designated period, typically lasting 23 days.
• High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• Outstanding customer service experience, preferably in a retail setting.
• Experience in construction or insurance is highly desirable and preferred.
• Exceptional communication skills – both verbal and written.
• Proficient in computer applications: MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Comfortable using smartphones and mobile applications.
• Willingness to learn about insurance policies and property damage comprehensively to determine how coverage applies to specific losses.
• Outgoing personality that enjoys engaging with a diverse array of individuals, including policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, and fraud investigators.
• Valid driver's license and bondable status required.
