This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• The Field Manager is responsible for leading and guiding a team of field technicians tasked with servicing and maintaining client-owned fleets.
• This role involves overseeing technician recruitment, training, performance management, and daily KPIs to guarantee high-quality, compliant, and timely service delivery.
• The Field Manager supervises maintenance and repair operations, ensures adherence to service standards and safety protocols, and addresses complex service challenges.
• Collaborates with clients and vendors to effectively resolve issues.
• Monitors, analyzes, and responds to operational metrics to hold technicians accountable to measurable standards and to identify trends for leadership before they escalate into problems.
• Maintains a proactive preventive and corrective maintenance program that exemplifies service excellence.
• Acts as a remote technical resource for intricate service issues; diagnosing problems, guiding technicians in repairs, and escalating to vendors or specialists as necessary.
• Ensures that mobile technicians fulfill client service agreements accurately, including scheduled maintenance, inspections, and repair tasks.
• Oversees service completion rates and quality across various client accounts.
• 5-7 years of experience in leading Fleet Maintenance teams.
• At least 7 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair as a heavy-duty diesel technician.
• Proven experience in utilizing data and reporting tools to manage team performance—not just reviewing reports, but taking actionable steps based on findings.
• Strong analytical capabilities with proficiency in research, data interpretation, management, and report generation.
• Demonstrated ability to build and continually motivate highly effective teams.
• Experience in developing standardized operating procedures and optimizing processes.
• Specialized knowledge of maintenance procedures and a general understanding of industry regulations (e.g., EPA, DOT, OSHA) to ensure compliance.
• Solid project management, resource planning, and both oral and written communication skills.
• High level of autonomy paired with a team-oriented mindset, capable of working cross-functionally within the Kooner FMS organization.
• Proficient in computer usage, including MS Office Suite and Fleet System software.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
