• Collaborate closely with a specific group of contract pork producers to assist in identifying and resolving issues while providing solutions to enhance production.
• Support customer relationship management and ensure proper documentation of on-farm reports.
• Work in conjunction with your Business Manager to develop solutions and make decisions that will influence your area and the profitability of your business unit.
• Assist producers in discovering the most effective methods for maximizing farm production through site visits, producer meetings, and sharing information.
• Oversee 20-25 producer sites, which encompass 50,000-100,000 pig spaces.
• Help manage producer relationships and support contract renewal processes.
• Typically, a field manager's area involves managing approximately 5-10 million dollars worth of pig inventory.
• Willingness to relocate to the Southeast Iowa Region or be within driving distance of the farms.
• A BS/BA degree in Agriculture or a related field with 3 years of swine experience, OR, if lacking a BS/BA degree in Agriculture, 5 years of experience in a leadership role within live swine.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• 80% day travel is required, with occasional overnight travel.
• Ability to motivate and inspire individuals to reach high goals.
• Possession of problem-solving techniques.
• Demonstrated understanding of overall business strategy and operations.
• Proficient in spreadsheet, database, and word processing software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Physical capability to bend, push, pull, twist, and lift approximately 60+ lbs.
• A maintained vehicle that is 6 years or newer for regular weekly travel to facilities.
• Candidates must be able to communicate and write in English.
