This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Accountable for assisting the installation team (whether customer or contractor) to guarantee timely adherence to installation schedules and that the quality of installation aligns with expectations.
• Serve as the intermediary between the customer and the delivery team to communicate effectively on installation status, potential risks, and unforeseen challenges.
• Conduct thorough reviews of new system installations to verify prints and ensure functionality as designed.
• Facilitate the startup and commissioning of new installations.
• Create installation and commissioning reports.
• Offer support to subcontractors to ensure installation procedures are executed with the expected level of quality.
• Conduct training sessions for operations and maintenance teams.
• Provide over-the-phone support to customers.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical systems during the startup phases of installation.
• Review existing PLC programs for troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Verify inventory of delivered components to confirm the availability of parts.
• Communicate with the customer regarding any inquiries and requirements related to the customer’s scope of work.
• Solicit and compile feedback from subcontractors for ongoing improvement.
• Collaborate with PMs and PEs to mitigate potential field issues during the installation phase.
• Maintain daily communication regarding project status, including punch list items and risks affecting project delivery.
• Identify potential risks during the installation phase and formulate strategies for mitigation.
• Monitor and assess risk factors to ensure proactive decision-making.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and completeness of installations.
• Demonstrated experience as an Installation or Service Technician or a related role.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting industrial equipment (pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical).
• 3-5 years of extensive experience in Controls, including diagnosing complex and intermittent system failures, along with programming, troubleshooting, commissioning, and retrofitting for multiple OEMs, and supporting PLC platforms (like Beckhoff and Schneider, etc.).
• Proven success in backing high-performance teams in a technical project environment.
• Strong technical background with a comprehensive understanding of installation procedures.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Capability to support and coordinate multiple teams throughout the installation phases.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• High sense of urgency - prioritizing action over inaction - and task-oriented.
• Ability to demonstrate meticulous attention to detail.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive/SharePoint, and Project, as these will be essential tools for the role.
• Experience with Remote Meeting Technology (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Skype, WebEx).
