Field Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Account Executives to facilitate technical discovery, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept initiatives.

• Establish trusted partnerships with engineering leaders, architects, and developers, acting as their technical advisor.

• Convert customer requirements into solution designs, providing guidance on best practices for implementation, prompt strategies, and contextual configurations.

• Create and present technical presentations, whiteboard sessions, and hands-on workshops customized to meet customer needs.

• Serve as the technical advocate for customers internally, influencing roadmap priorities and relaying feedback to Product and Engineering teams.

• Work together with post-sales teams to guarantee a seamless transition and successful onboarding for customers.

• Keep in-depth knowledge of Cursor’s capabilities and the competitive landscape to effectively communicate our value proposition.

• Assist in strategic account planning and contribute to driving expansion opportunities through technical validation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong communication skills and executive presence; comfortable coding alongside developers or presenting to CTOs.

• Profound understanding of the software development lifecycle, modern engineering organizational structures, and challenges related to developer productivity.

• Possess hands-on technical skills; while not required to be a full-time engineer, fluency in technical workflows, AI tools, and debugging complex environments is essential.

• Customer-focused with an ability to translate technical information into business outcomes.

• Background in Field Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Pre-Sales, or Consulting for enterprise software is preferred.
