This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Tailor program components to align with the requirements of designated prescribing physicians.
• Assess patient conditions and aid the prescribing physician in finalizing patient enrollment and preparing payer documentation.
• Recognize challenges in securing coverage and relay this information to the Program Manager.
• Cultivate robust relationships with physicians and their office staff, offering supplementary support as needed.
• Proactively assist in resolving issues related to assigned physicians.
• Deliver training to physicians and clinics regarding the program and new initiatives sanctioned by the manufacturer.
• Serve as a liaison and provide continuous feedback to the Program Manager.
• Complete all pertinent reports within designated timelines and according to required standards.
• Greet each patient entering the program and collect necessary patient information.
• Supply reimbursement payer guidelines to both patients and physicians.
• Ensure patient services are organized and monitored, facilitating swift access to therapy.
• Manage private and public coverage interactions among patients, physicians, and insurers.
• Verify the results of reimbursement navigation with the patient.
• Assist patients with selecting pharmacies and coordinating drug delivery.
• Report Adverse Events / Severe Adverse Events in accordance with program Standard Operating Procedures.
• Support the training and development of new Field Case Managers as required.
• Maintain communication with the Program Manager, physicians, physician office personnel, client representatives, patients, and nursing teams as necessary.
• A Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or a related field, or a nursing diploma.
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, insurance, or a related field is required.
• Active registration as a Licensed Nurse (RN or RPN/LPN) from the College of Nurses in the province of employment is mandatory.
• Case management experience is preferred; at least three (3) years of nursing experience in a clinical environment is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel within an assigned territory, with some overnight travel potentially required.
• A valid Driver’s License, a current auto insurance policy, and reliable transportation for regional travel are essential.
• Experience in various therapeutic areas is a plus.
• A background in business administration, particularly in pharmaceutical sales and marketing, is beneficial.
• Familiarity with private and public reimbursement structures, systems, and processes is vital.
• Experience with reimbursement navigation, special authorization, appeals processes, and field-based reimbursement support and consultation is required.
• Strong analytical abilities, including the interpretation of regulations and legislation, are necessary.
• Fluency in French and/or English may be required, depending on the program and geographic location.
