Field Applications Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Regular travel to customer locations is necessary.

• Addressing issues related to users' technical capabilities, biochemistry/assay design, experimental design, software, and equipment.

• Assisting the commercial team and clients with their technical applications while offering product training.

• Exhibiting professionalism, empathy, fairness, and technical expertise in all interactions with customers.

• Providing strategic and competitive insights to the marketing and product development teams, while independently leading or managing beta tests at client sites.

• Working autonomously on significant and unique challenges that require collaboration with key decision-makers and senior managers across the organization, potentially influencing future products, concepts, and technologies.

• Supporting sales and marketing in pre- and post-strategic sales activities that necessitate both technical proficiency and market knowledge.

• Conducting customer training and workshops, both in person and remotely.

• Utilizing service CRM software to accurately identify and document customer opportunities.

• Collaborating with internal stakeholders to address customer issues and enhance processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience, Master's degree with 2+ years, or a PhD with relevant experience in NGS library construction (a combination of experience and education may be taken into account).

• Preferred experience with NGS sequencing instruments and sequencing run setup, along with NGS sample and library preparation workflows.

• Experience in cell biology, microscopy, and multiomics is preferred.

• Must be highly motivated with strong problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships.

• Highly collaborative and adaptable; capable of working effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

• Proficient in nucleic acids and protein analytical techniques.

• Ability to generate high-quality and reproducible wet-lab data from established protocols.

• Comfortable engaging in technical project discussions.

• Must be capable of working independently as well as being a team player.
