Field Application Engineer – Radar System

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Offer pre-sales technical guidance in the architecture of 77GHz Radar systems, including silicon selection, initial setup, and protocol stack integration.

• Assist clients in designing radar systems that incorporate high-performance MPUs.

• Provide design support through schematic and PCB evaluations, bench setups, debugging, tracing, root-cause analysis, and customer assistance.

• Conduct on-site and remote proof-of-concept demonstrations utilizing NXP evaluation kits.

• Facilitate technical training sessions, including webinars, workshops, and internal alignment meetings.

• Manage project coordination among stakeholders, oversee timelines, and document project deliverables.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience with RTOS on ARM cores, with proficiency in C embedded development and IDE tools.

• Fundamental understanding of ADAS applications, including perception, sensor fusion, classification, and path planning.

• Ability to work independently on-site with customers.

• Experience in bringing up customer hardware (radar sensor) and software integration.

• Familiarity with MCU and MPU debugging and tracing tools such as Lauterbach.

• Capability to debug interfaces, including but not limited to: Boot from flash (QSPI), MIPI CSI, Ethernet, and DDR.

• Proficient with testing tools such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, etc.

• Strong troubleshooting abilities with MPUs, MCUs, and debugging and trace solutions similar to Lauterbach.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Previous experience as a Field Application Engineer or in a comparable customer-facing position.

• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
