Fiber Splicer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Install, splice, and conduct tests on single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cables and connectors.

• Execute OTDR, power meter, and light source tests for comprehensive end-to-end validation.

• Analyze fiber optic schematics, splice plans, and network diagrams.

• Perform troubleshooting and efficiently resolve technical issues in the field.

• Carry out preventative maintenance and document any potential infrastructure concerns.

• Keep thorough and precise records of all work completed.

• Work in collaboration with engineering, construction, and project teams to facilitate deployments.

• Oversee and manage the inventory of fiber optic tools, testing equipment, and consumables.

• Adhere to all safety protocols and comply with both company and industry quality standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is preferred.

• Demonstrated field experience in fiber optic installation, splicing, and testing.

• Strong knowledge of OTDRs, power meters, fusion splicers, and associated equipment.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

• A valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Flexible schedule is required – must be available to work evenings, weekends, or on-call as necessary.

• Willingness to engage in extensive nationwide travel (3–4 weeks at a time).
