Federal Litigation Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• File and litigate cases in federal court, adhering to the FRCP, local regulations, and CM/ECF (PACER).

• Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs for both state and federal court proceedings.

• Conduct thorough case evaluations, investigations, and legal research.

• Propound and respond to discovery requests; review relevant documents.

• Take and defend depositions, as well as attend court appearances.

• Engage in pre-trial preparation and participate in trials.

• Negotiate settlements while ensuring compliance with all calendar deadlines.

• Possess hands-on litigation experience in federal court, from initiation to resolution, in accordance with the FRCP.

• Draft and argue motions (including 12(b)(6), summary judgment, and motions to compel) and respond to intricate federal motions.

• Manage discovery processes, including initial disclosures, interrogatories, RFAs/RFPs, ESI, and protective orders.

• Experience with Rule 26(f) conferences, scheduling reports, and case management conferences.

• Take and defend depositions while preparing pretrial documents such as witness lists, exhibit lists, and motions in limine.

• Argue motions and present cases before federal judges and magistrates; trial experience is a significant advantage.

• Operate efficiently with minimal oversight in a dynamic environment.

• Exceptional analytical, writing, research, and communication abilities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, CM/ECF (PACER), and document management software.

• Familiarity with the local rules of at least one California federal district court.

• Active CA State Bar membership in good standing (required).

• Active admission to at least one California federal district court (required).

• 3–5 years of litigation experience, with federal court experience strongly preferred.

• Experience in Lemon Law or consumer protection is a plus.
