Family Offices Services Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Oversee designated capital sleeves within client portfolios on a fully discretionary basis.

• Create and sustain model portfolios that feature defined factor exposures, benchmark objectives, and risk budgets authorized by the client principal.

• Implement investment decisions that encompass security selection, position sizing, rebalancing, and tactical allocation adjustments in accordance with the established investment policy statement (IPS).

• Generate both time-weighted and money-weighted return reports for directly managed sleeves, adhering to the same S&P 500 benchmark standards applied to external managers.

• Develop written investment justifications for every significant position alteration.

• Continuously enhance performance measurement frameworks for each client’s complete advisor roster, benchmarked against the S&P 500 and relevant secondary indices.

• Create quarterly manager scorecards reflecting rolling 1-, 3-, and 5-year returns (gross and net of fees).

• Construct and maintain pairwise correlation matrices and factor-decomposed diversification analyses across all active managers, including directly managed sleeves.

• Conduct look-through concentration analysis to reveal actual single-name, sector, geography, and thematic exposures in the portfolio.

• Break down each manager's performance by asset class, sector, and factor exposure.

• Design and maintain liquidity waterfall models under specified stress scenarios.

• Monitor concentration risk in real-time across all sleeves.

• Draft and uphold a written Investment Policy Statement (IPS) for each client.

• Lead quarterly investment review meetings with family principals.

• Act as FSM's primary liaison for each client's wealth management team.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.

• CFA Charterholder in good standing.

• Possess a Series 65 (or Series 66) license, or a commitment to acquire one before taking on discretionary management duties; prior RIA registration experience is preferred.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in investment management, with proven responsibility for managing discretionary capital.

• Extensive knowledge in portfolio construction, performance attribution, factor analysis, and multi-asset risk management.

• Hands-on experience with investment policy statements, rebalancing frameworks, and client-level reporting for discretionary accounts.

• Proven track record of working within or alongside multi-entity family office frameworks (trusts, LLCs, LP structures, multi-state tax exposure).

• Proficient in portfolio management and analytics software (Addepar, Black Diamond, Orion, Masttro, or similar); capable of functioning efficiently without these tools when required.

• Outstanding written communication skills.
