
Faculty Associate – Rural Health Tele-Neurology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +5 more states.
• Conduct general neurology consultations through telemedicine.
• Coverage hours are from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with overnight consultative calls managed via telephone.
• No in-house responsibilities are required.
• Responsibilities do not include acute stroke or neurocritical care coverage.
• Supported by advanced practice providers (APPs) who assist with the coordination of consultations, follow-up care, and discharge planning.
• The daily workflow consists of morning tele-rounds followed by consult coverage throughout the day.
• Responsible for performing professional duties and technical procedures within the specialty area to ensure effective examination and treatment of patients.
• A Doctoral degree in Medicine in the relevant specialty is required.
• 3-5 years of clinical experience is necessary.
• CPR certification is mandatory.
• BLS certification is required.
• ACLS and/or other pertinent certifications as specified by the department are needed.
• Board certification/eligibility in the area of specialty is essential.
• Proven ability to foster professionalism through participation in professional organizations, teaching, research, and/or publishing.
• Ability to exhibit knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to the patient populations served.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are highly effective.
