This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Evaluates emergency room medical records to accurately assign ICD, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
β’ Achieves and surpasses both productivity and quality benchmarks.
β’ Assesses physician documentation and conducts audits to ensure accuracy as necessary.
β’ Updates charges (when required) and processes records promptly.
β’ Reviews tasks and makes code corrections as necessary.
β’ Offers training to colleagues to enhance coding results.
β’ High School Diploma or GED is required, along with the completion of a coding certification program.
β’ An Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or a related field is preferred.
β’ A minimum of 3 years of ER coding experience in a hospital setting is required.
β’ Experience with ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and E/M coding is necessary.
β’ A coding credential from AHIMA/AAPC (such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CPC) is required.
