This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +17 more states.
• Assign and sequence ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT-4 codes for inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, and emergency room records, ensuring precision for billing, reimbursement, and compliance.
• Review medical records for DRG/APC assignment, verify the accuracy of charges, abstract clinical data, and collaborate with healthcare providers and hospital departments to ensure appropriate documentation and adherence to regulations.
• Accurately represent diagnoses and procedures according to departmental protocols within medical records.
• Proactively engage with providers, staff, leadership, and hospital departments to ensure sufficient documentation supporting services.
• Execute charge capture and data entry in accordance with departmental protocols and procedures.
• Guarantee precise abstracting of clinical data while meeting regulatory and compliance standards.
• Comprehensive understanding of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT-4 coding guidelines and practices.
• Minimum of two years of coding experience in an acute care (hospital/facility) environment.
• Possession of a nationally recognized coding certification (CPC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, or RHIA).
• At least two years of work-related experience involving computer data entry and retrieval skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite and electronic medical record systems.
• In-depth knowledge of classification and nomenclature anatomy, medical terminology, and health information management procedures and practices.
• Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, self-motivated, critical thinking abilities, and the capacity to prioritize tasks while collaborating effectively with a team or working independently.
