Facility Coder – Health Information Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Accurately and promptly code medical records.

• Assign ICD 10, CPT, HCPCS, PCS, and DRG codes.

• Code inpatient, outpatient, and claims coding edits associated with facility-based services.

• Utilize expert knowledge of coding guidelines.

• Adhere to ethical coding standards.

• Maintain a quarterly quality score of 95% or higher.

• Engage in communication with clinical staff regarding coding issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or its Equivalent.

• Completion of a Coding Course.

• Possession of one of the following core credentials: CPC, COC, CIC, RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC-A, CIC-A, or COC-A.

• Strong analytical skills to interpret data found in medical records and assign the correct codes for precise billing.

• In-depth knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD 10, PCS, and DRG classification systems.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to liaise with clinical staff.

• Proven competency with computers and various software applications.

• Visual acuity required to read and interpret handwriting and electronic documentation.
