This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Assess client documentation, such as drawings, studies, and maintenance logs, prior to and during inspections.

• Conduct visual assessments of foundations, structures, exterior envelopes, stairs, hardscapes, interior stairs, finishes, and conveyance systems.

• Evaluate compliance with client standards as well as accessibility, fire and life safety, code, energy, and sustainability regulations.

• Work in conjunction with client facilities management personnel to gain insights into facility operations, investments, and functional requirements.

• Utilize tablets, cameras, and mobile collection software to record on-site observations and determine physical conditions.

• Create estimates for facility replacement costs and corrective measures using data libraries and vendor information.

• Enter findings into Gordian asset management and capital planning software.

• Ensure quality assurance for the completeness and precision of findings.

• Address client questions with clarity and guidance regarding assessment outcomes.


⛳️ Requirements

• An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering, Architecture, Facility/Construction Management, or equivalent experience.

• At least 5 years of experience in facility assessment or inspection, facility operations, design, construction, or facility/property management.

• Familiarity with researching and applying relevant building codes and standards for existing structures.

• Experience in conducting quantity surveys and estimating replacement values using RS Means or other construction cost databases.

• Background in evaluating facility/system conditions and performing lifecycle analysis with corrective cost estimates.

• Proficient with computers, mobile devices, Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and web browsers.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capacity to maintain focus on essential tasks and drive results.

• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.

• Ability to walk and inspect large properties and to climb ladders and stairs, including accessing roofing systems.

• Willingness and ability to travel 40% to 50% nationally and occasionally internationally.
