Expert Engineer – Full-Stack

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design and develop scalable APIs, services, and frontend functionalities.

• Engage with various codebases and domains as needed, swiftly grasping context and facilitating critical project progress.

• Deliver high-quality, maintainable code that balances practicality with long-term sustainability.

• Collaborate closely with staff engineers, product managers, designers, and other engineers to define solutions that have a tangible impact on our users.

• Utilize AI-supported development tools and modern engineering methodologies to accelerate progress without sacrificing quality.

• Proactively identify gaps, edge cases, and technical risks in existing systems, driving practical enhancements.

• Independently manage projects of varying complexity, from minor fixes to larger initiatives, and follow them through to completion.

• Share knowledge and best practices with the teams you support, helping them to work more efficiently while keeping overhead low.

• Provide clear and honest feedback and status updates to stakeholders, ensuring alignment and predictable delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in software engineering, including at least 2 years in a senior or technical leadership position.

• Strong full-stack expertise (e.g., Kotlin/Java backend, React/JS frontend).

• Solid experience with Spring Boot, Terraform, and GitHub Actions.

• Extensive knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).

• Demonstrated ability to rapidly comprehend new domains, systems, and codebases, making significant contributions with minimal onboarding time.

• Proven experience in system design and architectural leadership.

• Capable of working independently across diverse codebases and domains.

• A pragmatic, impact-oriented mindset: you focus on resolving the current issue and are comfortable with both simple and complex tasks.

• Strong experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code).

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work closely with various teams and stakeholders.
