This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals.
• Ensure accurate documentation and maintenance of client tax records.
• Conduct interviews with clients to gather necessary tax documentation.
• Adhere to IRS due diligence requirements and tax preparation standards.
• Safeguard the confidentiality of taxpayer information.
• Communicate with clients about the status of their returns, documentation needs, and filing requirements.
• Verify that returns are accurate and complete prior to submission.
• Assist in managing client workflow and tax season operations.
• Participate in required training sessions, compliance updates, and tax season meetings.
• Develop and maintain a personal portfolio of tax clients.
• Create strategies to attract new clients and boost tax return volume.
• Promote the tax business through marketing initiatives, networking, and community involvement.
• Recruit and form a team of tax preparers.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support during the tax season.
• Oversee the daily operations of the tax business.
• Manage client workflow and the processes associated with tax season.
• Monitor submitted returns and funded return activities.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and foster long-term client relationships.
• Educate clients throughout the tax preparation process.
• Take responsibility for achieving business goals, growth, and outcomes.
• An active IRS Electronic Filing Identification Number (EFIN) is mandatory.
• A valid PTIN is required.
• Prior experience in individual income tax preparation is essential.
• Knowledge of federal and state tax filing requirements is necessary.
• Familiarity with tax preparation software is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills are required.
• Excellent communication and client service skills are a must.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines during the tax season is crucial.
• A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to IRS compliance standards is required.
• Candidates must already hold an active EFIN and possess prior tax preparation experience.
