Executive Underwriter – Specialty

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create strategic business plans with agencies aimed at enhancing book performance in terms of profitability, retention, premium growth, and new business generation.

• Assess new and renewal policy submissions and associated documentation to evaluate and categorize risks, determine acceptability, assign ratings, specify endorsements and limits, and establish suitable pricing.

• Build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to streamline the underwriting process, foster business growth, and stay updated on industry developments.

• Act as a resource for colleagues within other departments.

• Leverage expertise in automated underwriting and/or processing systems to generate information for new or renewal policies.

• Comply with all company directives related to underwriting authority, underwriting guidelines, and other relevant company policies and procedures.

⛳️ Requirements

• Approximately six years of relevant and progressive professional experience.

• At least two years of leadership experience, guiding teams to achieve their objectives.

• Prior experience in the agriculture or crop insurance industry is preferred but not mandatory.

• Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent education and/or experience.

• Proven ability to negotiate effectively to achieve business outcomes that align with ProAg's strategic objectives.

• Employ a data-driven approach in making business and tactical decisions.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy for effective communication, both orally and in writing.

• Informed about industry shifts, legal updates, and technical advancements relevant to the Company's business area, enabling proactive responses to changes in the business landscape.
