This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Responsible for the marketing and underwriting of the Surety portfolio for the Allianz Trade North America Surety Team.
• Creating and implementing a strategic business plan aimed at expanding AZ Trade’s Surety operations in the Americas.
• Developing and underwriting a profitable Surety portfolio through proactive engagement with both existing and new broker relationships in the marketplace.
• Maintaining thorough documentation of all decisions and recommendations in a consistent and transparent manner.
• Building and sustaining key relationships while establishing a nationally-focused portfolio.
• Performing account and portfolio underwriting activities in alignment with the underwriting guidelines and portfolio management standards set by AZ Trade.
• Collaborating with Allianz colleagues throughout the Americas and globally to maximize Allianz's surety capabilities and leverage the existing customer base.
• Working in coordination with Allianz Surety teams worldwide to ensure consistency on risk and underwriting matters.
• Actively engaging in industry groups and participating in local surety events.
• Bachelor’s degree with a focus on business, economics, or finance.
• Over 7 years of industry experience, primarily in an underwriting role.
• Proven track record in underwriting and expanding a Surety portfolio.
• In-depth knowledge and expertise in contract surety along with a strong understanding of the U.S. surety market.
• Entrepreneurial mindset to set and achieve goals and objectives.
• Established history of developing robust relationships and business with brokers.
• Proven ability to underwrite and grow a Surety portfolio tailored to Large U.S. and Multinational Contractors.
• Experience in formulating and managing marketing plans, business strategies, and budgets.
• Familiarity with Surety distribution channels and experience in managing relationships with both national and regional brokers.
• Recognized expertise in underwriting contract surety accounts and associated risks.
• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Effective management and interpersonal skills to work efficiently within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication skills to establish a significant market presence.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight.
• Willingness to travel as necessary.
