Executive General Adjuster, Property

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Manages high-severity and complex first-party property claims as assigned.

• Conducts field inspections of losses, ensuring accurate assessments of damages, photographs, and estimates are completed.

• Utilizes a wide range of innovative technologies.

• Investigates and assesses all pertinent facts to ascertain coverage, damages, and liability for first-party property damage claims, including the analysis of leases, contracts, by-laws, and other relevant documents, along with business interruption calculations.

• Obtains recorded or written statements as necessary.

• Establishes precise and timely claim and expense reserves.

• Determines suitable settlement amounts using independent judgment, computer-assisted estimates for building and/or contents, actual cash value and replacement value assessments, contractor estimate validations, appraisals, and the work product of Independent Adjusters.

• Engages in negotiations with various parties, such as contractors or insured representatives, and communicates claim settlements within authorized limits.

• Drafts denial letters, Reservations of Rights, and other intricate correspondence.

• Accurately evaluates damage extent and manages it using appropriate cost evaluation tools.

• Adheres to all quality standards and expectations as outlined in Company Guidelines.

• Maintains a diary system to record all necessary data and document claim file activities per established procedures.

• Oversees file inventory to ensure cases are resolved in a timely manner.

• Manages files in compliance with relevant state regulations.

• Delivers exceptional customer service to meet the needs of insured clients, agents, and other internal and external business partners.

• Identifies when to refer claims to the Special Investigations Unit and/or Subrogation Unit.

• Performs administrative tasks such as managing expense accounts and reporting time off as required.

• May participate in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, pre-trials, trials, and other legal proceedings as necessary.

• This role will involve participation in our Catastrophe Response Program to assist customers in other states.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of ten to fifteen (10-15) years of experience in an insurance company and/or insurance claims loss adjustment service provider managing the property claims process for commercial accounts.

• Extensive knowledge of the insurance industry and operations, especially regarding commercial property claims, property policy construction, ISO Commercial Property forms, and property insurance coverage evaluation and interpretation.

• Appropriate adjuster licensing in all relevant states.

• A solid understanding of legal concepts and processes.

• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), along with strong influencing, evaluation, negotiation, listening, and interpersonal skills to cultivate productive working relationships with internal/external colleagues and other professionals across organizational boundaries.

• Strong time management and organizational abilities.

• Proven capability to engage in strategic discussions.

• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

• Practical experience and strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

• Willingness and capability to travel up to 75% of the time.
