Executive Director, VASP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nigeria.

📋 Description

• Deliver strategic direction and comprehensive oversight of the Nigerian VASP operations;

• Manage the daily operations and execution of the organization's VASP strategy, which includes virtual asset exchange, custody, transfers, and related services;

• Supervise governance, risk management, and compliance protocols;

• Cultivate relationships with SEC Nigeria and other regulatory bodies;

• Ensure strong operational controls, segregation of client assets, transaction monitoring, and business continuity measures;

• Enhance financial performance, operational efficiency, and risk management culture;

• Collaborate with group functions and provide regular updates to the local Board and group leadership;

• Advocate for a compliance-driven culture; actively engage in Board meetings; assist the Board in meeting its fiduciary and regulatory obligations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A first degree or its equivalent in a relevant discipline;

• A first degree or its equivalent in a non-relevant field accompanied by at least six (6) years of pertinent post-qualification experience;

• A minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant post-qualification experience may be accepted with a West African School Certificate, Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination certificate, General Certificate of Education, or Higher School Certificate or its equivalent;

• At least four (4) years of relevant post-qualification experience (excluding NYSC year) in sectors such as virtual assets, financial technology, financial services, capital markets, or related fields.

• Experience in Nigerian VASP/fintech operations or licensing is strongly preferred.

• Appointment as Executive Director is contingent upon prior SEC approval as a Sponsored Individual / Principal Officer.
