This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Lead a comprehensive social strategy that spans across patient and healthcare professional (HCP) audiences.
• Act as Avalere’s expert on social engagement, platform trends, and new opportunities.
• Create strategic recommendations for both organic and paid social media as part of integrated campaign planning.
• Identify key social platforms, audience behaviors, content types, and engagement trends to guide campaign direction.
• Develop and execute strategies for influencers, key opinion leaders (KOLs), direct opinion leaders (DOLs), and brand ambassadors that align with brand and audience objectives.
• Recruit, assess, and manage KOLs, DOLs, patient ambassadors, and creator/influencer partners for social engagement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Account, Strategy, Media, Analytics, and external vendors to ensure social strategy aligns with campaign goals.
• Present social media recommendations, strategic points of view, and platform opportunities to internal stakeholders and clients.
• Convert social insights and performance trends into actionable recommendations and future planning considerations.
• Promote a social-first mindset throughout campaign ideation, planning, optimization, and innovation.
• Assist in establishing scalable social processes, best practices, and strategic frameworks organization-wide.
• Mentor and support junior members of the social team as the function expands.
• 8–10+ years of experience in social strategy, digital marketing, integrated media strategy, or social media planning.
• Proven experience in developing cross-platform social strategies for brands, preferably within the healthcare, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industries.
• Strong comprehension of both organic and paid social ecosystems, platform trends, content formats, and audience engagement behaviors.
• Experience in developing or managing influencer, ambassador, KOL, or DOL programs.
• Background in advising clients and presenting strategic recommendations in client-facing environments.
• Capability to translate social opportunities, performance insights, and audience behavior into clear strategic direction.
• Experience working collaboratively with account, strategy, media, analytics, and vendor teams.
• Familiarity with the dynamics of healthcare and pharmaceutical marketing is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution.
