This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.
• Define and execute Custodi’s strategic vision while ensuring it aligns with the broader Our Common Home network.
• Identify opportunities for impactful initiatives and collaborations at both local and national levels.
• Build and cultivate Custodi’s identity, workforce, culture, and governance structures.
• Recruit, mentor, and lead a small yet ambitious team.
• Establish relationships and capabilities for trusted partnerships with community leaders, local stakeholders, and organizations throughout Italy.
• Ensure that engagement with underrepresented communities informs the organization’s strategy and operations.
• Spearhead fundraising initiatives in Italy with foundations, philanthropic contributors, and institutional partners.
• Contribute to the financial sustainability of Custodi and the broader Our Common Home network.
• Represent Custodi in public discussions, events, and media engagements.
• Foster constructive dialogue within Italian society.
• Manage financial, operational, and personnel-related processes.
• Uphold high standards of organizational governance and accountability.
• Comfortable creating initiatives from scratch, thriving in dynamic environments, and adjusting strategies as opportunities arise.
• Strong understanding of Italy's political, institutional, and cultural landscape.
• Proven experience in leading teams, establishing organizations or initiatives, and nurturing a collaborative and accountable culture.
• Experience in designing and implementing initiatives that mobilize communities or influence public discourse.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with diverse stakeholders, including community leaders, institutions, and funders.
• Familiarity with the Italian philanthropic sector and confidence in cultivating relationships with donors and partners.
• Native-level proficiency in Italian.
• Good working knowledge of English; strong English communication skills are essential.
