Executive Director – Public Affairs, Strategy & Partnerships

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.

📋 Description

• Define and execute Custodi’s strategic vision in alignment with the overarching Our Common Home mission.

• Identify impactful initiatives and form partnerships at both local and national levels.

• Cultivate and enhance Custodi’s identity, workforce, culture, and governance.

• Recruit, mentor, and lead a small, driven team.

• Establish trusted relationships with community leaders, local stakeholders, and organizations throughout Italy.

• Ensure that the perspectives of underrepresented communities shape the organization’s strategy and initiatives.

• Spearhead fundraising activities with foundations, philanthropic donors, and institutional partners.

• Contribute to the financial viability of Custodi and the broader Our Common Home network.

• Represent Custodi in public forums, events, and media engagements.

• Foster constructive dialogue within Italian society.

• Oversee financial, operational, and personnel-related processes.

• Uphold high standards of governance and accountability.

⛳️ Requirements

• An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to develop initiatives from the ground up.

• A robust understanding of Italy's political, institutional, and cultural context.

• Proven experience in leading teams, building organizations or initiatives, and nurturing a collaborative and accountable culture.

• Experience in designing and executing initiatives that engage communities or influence public discourse.

• Ability to establish trust with a diverse range of stakeholders, including community leaders, institutions, and funders.

• Familiarity with the Italian philanthropic landscape and confidence in developing relationships with donors and partners.

• Native-level proficiency in Italian.

• Proficient working knowledge of English; strong English skills are essential.
