This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee global quarterly and annual income tax provision reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and local statutory regulations.
• Supervise ASC 740 tax accounting, encompassing forecasting, reconciliations, uncertain tax positions, valuation allowances, deferred taxes, purchase accounting, and adjustments for tax law changes.
• Ensure precise tax disclosures in financial statements and regulatory submissions.
• Provide guidance to Finance leadership, auditors, and stakeholders regarding intricate tax accounting issues, transactions, restructurings, acquisitions, disposals, integrations, and transformations.
• Develop and uphold global tax compliance governance across various jurisdictions.
• Facilitate collaboration among internal teams, outsourced service providers, and external consultants.
• Track emerging tax regulations and assess their implications for compliance and reporting.
• Spearhead tax process simplification, automation, digital transformation, data strategy, AI integration, and scalable operating models.
• Collaborate with Digital and Finance teams to enhance tax technology platforms.
• Assess and improve outsourcing, shared services, and advisor engagement.
• Lead cross-functional projects involving Finance, Accounting, Legal, Treasury, and Digital departments.
• Ensure tax governance, internal controls, SOX compliance, and readiness for audits.
• Establish metrics and reporting for performance, risk, and compliance.
• Manage and nurture a high-performing global tax team.
• Oversee external advisors, service providers, and audit firms.
• Influence senior executives with data-driven recommendations and strategic insights.
• 14+ years of tax experience, including substantial leadership experience in multinational corporate tax.
• In-depth knowledge of ASC 740, income tax accounting, tax reporting, and global compliance governance.
• Proven experience leading global tax reporting processes for a large multinational corporation.
• Strong grasp of financial reporting obligations, SOX controls, and external audit processes.
• Experience in managing extensive tax transformation and process enhancement projects.
• Capability to collaborate effectively with senior business and finance executives.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field.
• CPA certification is mandatory.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, biotechnology, or healthcare sectors is preferred.
• Familiarity with implementing tax technology platforms and digital transformation initiatives is desirable.
• Experience in managing global outsourced tax compliance models is preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.
