Executive Director, Clinical Platforms, Product Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement the product strategy and roadmap for clinical platforms, ensuring alignment with Fortrea’s enterprise and clinical delivery goals.

• Oversee the complete product development lifecycle, from ideation to engineering, validation, deployment, and ongoing management of applications.

• Promote a product-centric operational model that emphasizes agility, DevOps, and customer-first delivery.

• Guarantee that solutions are scalable, secure, and adhere to regulatory standards within the realm of clinical research.

• Assess and incorporate digital health, AI/ML, and cutting-edge technologies to improve clinical trial execution and patient experience.

• Regularly analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and technological advancements to ensure Fortrea's competitive edge in the industry.

• Manage the daily operational model for Clinical Platforms, ensuring consistent delivery predictability, quality, and efficiency.

• Take ownership of PMO governance, portfolio prioritization, and execution discipline across platform initiatives.

• Set up uniform delivery standards, reporting schedules, and performance metrics.

• Actively identify and address risks, dependencies, and resource limitations.

• Ensure alignment between product roadmaps and delivery capacity.

• Promote ongoing improvements in delivery speed, cost-effectiveness, and quality outcomes.

• Ensure that platforms facilitate the entire clinical trial lifecycle, encompassing study initiation, site management, data collection, monitoring, safety, and regulatory submission.

• Convert clinical and operational requirements into technology-driven solutions that enhance efficiency, compliance, and data integrity.

• Serve as the main integrator among Clinical Operations, Commercial, Quality, Regulatory, Security, and Data Privacy teams.

• Collaborate with business leaders to establish clear accountability, governance, and decision-making across intricate initiatives.

• Ensure that platform capabilities are effectively embraced and integrated within the organization.

• Streamline complexity by defining clear ownership and efficient processes.

• Create and present platform narratives, demonstrations, and supporting documentation.

• Collaborate with Commercial and Business Development teams to showcase platforms as a unique capability.

• Lead the creation of executive-level communications, presentations, and materials for external audiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Health Informatics, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

• Experience in clinical research, CRO, pharmaceutical, or regulated healthcare technology sectors.

• Proven track record in leading comprehensive product development and creating enterprise-scale applications/platforms.

• Extensive knowledge of the complete clinical trial lifecycle and related technology ecosystems.

• Established experience with digital health technologies, clinical platforms, or patient-focused solutions.

• Significant leadership experience in product management, engineering, and operational delivery.

• Experience in managing and directing complex PMO and enterprise delivery operations.

• Demonstrated success in supporting client-facing activities, sponsor interactions, and bid defense processes.

• Strong experience in managing vendor relationships and external strategic partnerships.

• Familiarity with working in complex, matrixed global organizations.

• Proven ability to balance strategic vision with practical execution.
