Executive Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.

📋 Description

• Act as the chief representative for the organization, advocating its mission and vision.

• Promote policies, programs, and services that support individuals with I/DD and their families.

• Work in partnership with local, state, and federal agencies to shape legislation and public policy.

• Represent the organization at public hearings, legislative sessions, and policymaking discussions to further its policy agenda.

• Create and execute a comprehensive policy agenda in conjunction with the Board of Directors and stakeholders.

• Monitor, evaluate, and react to state and federal legislative and regulatory changes impacting individuals with I/DD.

• Establish coalitions and partnerships to enhance advocacy initiatives and foster equitable policy results.

• Manage daily operations, including staff oversight, program execution, and resource management.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five years of progressively responsible leadership experience in the social/human services field.

• A Bachelor’s degree in a human services or organizational management discipline (such as Public Administration, Business Administration, Human Services, Social Work, Public Law, etc.) or equivalent experience.

• Experience in fundraising, which includes cultivating individual donors, writing grant proposals, securing corporate sponsorships, and managing special events.

• Strong interpersonal and written communication abilities.

• Must be a resident of Connecticut.
