This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Receives assignments for claims, verifying and establishing the applicability of coverage.
• Capable of interpreting intricate coverage issues and drafting appropriate reservation of rights and declination of coverage letters.
• Determines the necessary method and extent of investigation for each claim in accordance with the company’s Best Practices.
• Reviews and manages outstanding files as assigned, ensuring adequacy and timeliness of investigation, evaluation, and reserve, while maintaining a timely diary for each case.
• Evaluates and adjusts claims within the authorized level of the adjuster.
• Assesses potential for risk transfer and is responsible for developing the information necessary to effectively address tender issues.
• Directly reports technical matters to supervisors or management.
• Evaluates and manages litigated claims, determining the future handling course and appropriate method of resolution.
• Consults with the claim manager on claims needing assistance and consultation, as well as those exceeding assigned authority.
• Assesses recovery potential and is responsible for gathering the information needed to effectively pursue recovery.
• Engages with current and prospective customers to discuss C&F claims capabilities and address specific claim requirements.
• Responsible for the fair and prompt adjustment and management of assigned claims to resolution in line with company Best Practices.
• Tasked with delivering exceptional customer service to all agents, insureds, and other parties encountered during the claims handling process.
• A minimum of six years of litigation experience in handling complex general liability claims.
• A college degree is required.
• A law degree is mandatory.
• Additional designations and/or insurance-related courses are advantageous.
• Must obtain and maintain the required state licenses.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are crucial, along with the ability to engage with all organizational levels.
• Proficiency in computer skills with a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is essential.
• Occasional travel may be required.
