Executive Assistant, E-commerce Marketing Ops – Shopify

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Serve as a key partner to the Founder: capture concepts, organize them into an “ideas library,” prioritize tasks, and ensure follow-through.

• Create straightforward weekly dashboards/reports to keep the team updated on “what’s happening” (campaigns, sales, launches).

• Manage follow-ups: pursue responsible parties, close communication loops, identify obstacles, and keep tasks progressing.

• Prepare for meetings (establish clear agendas, set objectives), attend when beneficial, and provide concise action summaries.

• Light administrative support: manage calendar blocks and schedule appointments as necessary.

• Maintain Shopify: add new products, write/edit product descriptions, handle basic merchandising (e.g., seasonal updates like Halloween), and perform minor landing page adjustments (coupon bars, banners, etc.).

• Monitor inventory: alert on low stock levels; coordinate straightforward re-order prompts.

• Copywriting: create engaging, on-brand copy (we enjoy cat puns) for product pages, promotions, and light campaign materials.

• Assist with recurring marketing activities (e.g., replicating monthly email/promo workflows once patterns are established).

• Collect insights from Trello/Slack and consolidate into a single clear “what the client needs now” overview.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years in EA/operations or e-commerce operations for a DTC brand/agency (Shopify experience is highly preferred).

• Demonstrated success in managing follow-ups, timelines, and cross-team collaboration in a dynamic, founder-driven environment.

• Exceptional written English and short-form copywriting abilities (brand voice, humor, and wordplay).

• Strong proficiency with tools: Shopify, Google Workspace, Slack, Trello/Asana (or comparable platforms).

• Comfortable with data: able to create simple performance snapshots (extract numbers, format, and interpret them at a high level).

• High emotional intelligence with a low-ego, straightforward communication style, adept at making quick decisions and providing candid feedback.
