European Director – Consumer Brands

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.

📋 Description

• Provide commercial leadership throughout Europe.

• Own and drive the commercial strategy across approximately 20 European markets.

• Transform central strategies into clear, actionable country plans.

• Achieve revenue, margin, and growth targets established with the partner.

• Ensure consistent execution across distributor networks.

• Serve as the primary European liaison for a strategic global partner, managing the commercial relationship and aligning growth strategies across European markets within a distributor-led framework.

• Develop and nurture strong relationships at the senior level.

• Lead regular business reviews and strategic discussions.

• Align long-term goals, innovation pipelines, and commercial priorities.

• Collaborate closely with country sales leaders to implement sales strategies.

• Provide direction and structure, ensuring coherence across all markets.

• Address performance gaps and drive accountability.

• Assist local teams in acquiring and developing business.

• Manage and cultivate relationships with key distributors throughout Europe.

• Identify growth opportunities within the channel model, focusing on the SME segment.

• Ensure the effective rollout of new products and initiatives.

• Enhance collaboration between the partner, distributors, and internal teams.

• Work in conjunction with marketing, supply chain, and finance teams to achieve results.

• Align commercial plans with product launches and go-to-market strategies.

• Ensure robust execution of innovation across markets.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Commercial, or a related field.

• 8–10+ years of experience in commercial roles such as Key Account, Business Development, or Sales Leadership.

• Strong background in international or multi-country environments.

• Proven success in managing large strategic accounts.

• Experience with distributor-led or indirect sales models.

• Comfortable functioning within a matrix organization without direct authority.

• Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking capabilities.

• Ability to influence senior stakeholders across various countries and functions.

• Excellent relationship management and negotiation abilities.

• Data-driven and structured approach to performance management (KPIs, pipeline, forecasts).

• Hands-on mindset: not only defining strategy but also ensuring its execution.

• High level of ownership and accountability.

• Fluent in English as a business language.

• Proficiency in additional European languages is an advantage.
