EU Spanish Linguist – Part Time, Gaming

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Execute translation assignments, including in-game content, user interface texts, legal documents, and supporting materials in accordance with client guidelines, First Party terminology, and defined tone and style.

• Conduct editorial activities, which involve revising and reviewing translations to guarantee linguistic precision, consistency, and natural readability.

• Engage in creative translation and localization efforts, including the development, maintenance, and updating of glossaries, style guides, and character profiles within established ownership frameworks.

• Adhere to project timelines and productivity benchmarks while upholding high-quality standards within a specified localization pipeline.

• Maintain consistency in tone, voice, and terminology throughout all content and game components.

• Collaborate with other translators to assess work for cohesion and logical content flow.

• Identify and resolve localization challenges, including issues raised during reviews and bugs detected during testing.

• Utilize translation and project management tools (e.g., memoQ, JIRA, client-specific systems) to monitor progress and maintain workflow transparency.

• Enter, track, and respond to localization inquiries in line with team workflows.

• Assist in the onboarding process for new translators by offering guidance on language-specific tools and project standards.

• Support candidate test evaluations and contribute to updates for tests as required.

• Work closely with clients on daily language-related matters, ensuring ongoing communication to keep content aligned.

• Adapt flexibly to changing project requirements and priorities.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in both EU Spanish and English.

• Strong cultural insight into the EU Spanish market.

• Available to work on a fixed-term contract as an internal linguist.

• 1–3 years of experience in translation, localization, or related language services (game localization experience is preferred).

• Solid proficiency in CAT tools (e.g., memoQ, Trados, XTM, client-specific systems) and familiarity with workflow platforms (e.g., JIRA, Plunet).

• Exceptional linguistic accuracy and attention to detail, with a strong emphasis on consistency.

• Collaborative attitude with the ability to efficiently manage independent tasks.

• Strong problem-solving and communication capabilities; adaptable to feedback and changing project requirements.

• Comfortable working under tight deadlines with a positive, proactive mindset.

• Committed to adhering to company policies, ISO quality standards, GDPR, and client confidentiality.

• Responsible work ethic, promoting safe and supportive work practices.

• Candidates must reside within the UK.
