ETL Test Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• The Data Quality Analyst is responsible for designing and executing the Data Quality framework operationally.

• Key duties involve the creation and upkeep of quality assurance testing deliverables and supporting delivery activities.

• Assessing Business requirements for completeness and accuracy is essential.

• Evaluating Business requirements against technical specifications (data modelling) is part of the role.

• Formulating high-level test scenarios is required.

• Creating manual test cases is an important task.

• Developing validation scripts for automated execution while producing actionable data quality reports that track trends over time is expected.

• Crafting yaml code to establish and maintain DevOps pipelines is necessary.

• Analyzing test outputs and reporting defects is part of the responsibilities.

• Collaborating closely with Business Analysts, Data Analysts/Scientists, Development teams, and Product Owners to ensure data integrity across various source systems is crucial.

• Involvement in defect triage and sprint ceremonies is required.

• The candidate will engage in both automated and manual ETL testing across multiple scrum teams, with a focus on automated testing.

• Participation in the architectural design of data quality practices alongside the technical team, which includes DQ design and specifications, data modelling, and documentation of logical processing flows, is expected.

• Agile testing methodologies will be utilized.

• Development of documents and implementation of data quality standards is part of the role.

• Regularly reviewing and interpreting QA results and findings with minimal support from senior leadership is required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and consulting experience is required.

• At least 5 years of experience in large-scale system implementation efforts following a standard software development lifecycle approach (scrum preferred).

• Experience in ETL testing is necessary.

• Proficiency in automating ETL tests using Pyspark/Python is essential.

• Capability to write manual test cases based on business requirements and technical specifications is required.

• Ability to create data bricks notebooks to automate manual tests is necessary.

• Competence in creating and executing Test pipelines and interpreting results is expected.

• Ability to test complex reports and write queries to validate each metric is essential.

• Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
