This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Prepare and update detailed material takeoffs and quantity surveys under the guidance of senior estimating leadership.
• Examine architectural drawings, specifications, addenda, structural calculations, and engineering documents to define project scope and pricing needs.
• Evaluate project schedules, including visual mock-ups, testing requirements, material procurement timelines, and installation sequencing.
• Create detailed estimates for materials, labor, equipment, transportation, taxes, and subcontractor costs.
• Generate precise quantity takeoffs from architectural and structural drawings.
• Compile material summaries, sketches, and bid documentation essential for developing estimates.
• Request, assess, and analyze vendor and subcontractor quotations for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to project specifications.
• Manage bid-related communications, including the distribution of plans, specifications, and addenda to vendors and subcontractors.
• Draft bid proposals, pricing breakdowns, unit costs, clarifications, inclusions, and exclusions.
• Assist in the preparation of final bid packages and submissions to clients.
• Engage in scope review meetings and maintain thorough meeting documentation.
• Follow up with general contractors and clients regarding bid submissions and feedback on proposals.
• Provide support to senior estimating personnel with project pricing, budgeting, and proposal development.
• Employ Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Word, and other estimating software tools to create accurate estimates and reports.
• Adhere to all proposal deadlines while ensuring a high level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in estimating, sales, or preconstruction, ideally within the construction sector.
• Strong comprehension of architectural and structural drawings and associated construction documentation.
• Proven experience in preparing quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and bid proposals.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and the Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel with formulas and spreadsheet analysis.
• Familiarity with glass door systems, point-supported glass wall systems, high-span curtain wall systems, unitized curtain wall systems, and storefront framing and entrance systems.
• Field construction experience related to unitized curtain wall or glazing installation.
• Knowledge of Kawneer storefront products and systems.
• Experience using PartnerPak estimating software for Kawneer products.
• A college degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a related field is preferred.
