This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Analyze and extract pertinent measurements and specifications from architectural and mechanical drawings provided by clients.
• Convert technical drawings into comprehensive insulation requirements and enter them into pricing tools like Excel or proprietary estimating software, specifically focusing on pipe insulation.
• Utilize PlanSwift or AutoCAD to effectively perform take-offs and prepare documentation necessary for pricing and quoting.
• Assemble quotes in PDF format, ensuring precision, risk management, and proper tagging before internal approval and client submission.
• Validate estimates for accuracy, taking into account project type, timelines, internal capabilities, and market conditions.
• Collaborate with project and operations teams to clarify project scope, ensure feasibility, and assist with tender follow-ups as required.
• Keep updated on market trends and pricing fluctuations that could impact insulation cost structures and competitiveness in tenders.
• Offer suggestions to enhance estimation processes and tools as the business expands, particularly in the New Zealand market.
• Perform other duties relevant to the position as they arise.
• Proficiency in using PlanSwift or AutoCAD is essential.
• Demonstrated estimating experience in the construction or mechanical services sector; experience in plumbing or HVAC estimating is highly preferred.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering is required.
• Capability to commence work immediately with minimal training or supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify errors or omissions in technical drawings and estimates.
• Proficient in Excel, PDF editing, and document formatting for professional quote submissions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and client interactions.
• Familiarity with various insulation materials, mechanical insulation systems, and their applications in commercial and industrial projects is advantageous.
• A working knowledge of relevant building codes, insulation standards, and compliance regulations in New Zealand and Australia is a plus.
