Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Evaluate architectural drawings, specifications, and project documentation to ensure compliance with Division 8 scope requirements.

• Generate precise cost estimates for doors, frames, hardware, and locking systems.

• Conduct quantity takeoffs and material calculations.

• Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to gather pricing and product details.

• Review bid documents, addenda, and project specifications.

• Develop and submit proposals and bid packages within established deadlines.

• Work in tandem with project managers, sales teams, and clients regarding project specifications.

• Keep detailed estimating records and project documentation organized.

• Recognize value engineering opportunities and cost-reduction strategies.

• Ensure estimates conform to company standards, project requirements, and industry regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) is strongly preferred.

• At least 2 years of estimating experience in construction, doors and hardware, or a related field.

• Familiarity with Division 8 products such as doors, frames, hardware, and access control systems.

• Capability to read and interpret architectural drawings and construction specifications.

• Proficiency in estimating software and the Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Exceptional communication and time management abilities.

• Strong organizational and coordination skills.

• Excellent communication skills with contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.

• Ability to navigate multiple software platforms and communicate directly with contractors during the estimating process.

• Capacity to multitask across various projects simultaneously while ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines.

• Competent in managing diverse product categories and workstreams, rather than specializing in a single estimating area.

• Ability to handle multiple bids and deadlines in a dynamic environment.

• Experience with commercial construction projects is preferred.
