Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Create comprehensive cost estimates for all construction activities beyond factory production, which include site preparation, earthworks, geotechnical works, slabs, and service connections.

• Calculate costs across various trades such as plumbing, electrical, waterproofing, tiling, mechanical, landscaping, and fit-outs.

• Research and evaluate pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and material vendors.

• Develop transport and logistics cost estimates, accounting for deliveries to regional and remote areas.

• Formulate precise turnkey project pricing by integrating factory production costs with external construction expenses.

• Utilize construction cost databases like Cordell's Cost Guide (or equivalent) to establish pricing benchmarks.

• Implement ABS indices and cost escalation strategies to ensure accurate project pricing.

• Oversee estimating workflows with WonderBuild and keep estimating models updated in Excel.

• Prepare pricing proposals and assist in the preparation of tender documentation.

• Collaborate closely with the Commercial Lead and Technical Director to ensure estimates are consistent with project specifications and budgets.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in construction estimating.

• Strong grasp of residential construction, relevant terminology, and complete project costing.

• Proven experience in preparing comprehensive estimates across various construction trades, rather than being confined to a single discipline.

• Experience with multi-dwelling residential developments (preferably 30+ homes).

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of complex formulas and macro-driven templates.

• Familiarity with Cordell's Cost Guide or similar construction cost reference tools.

• Understanding of ABS cost indices and principles of cost escalation.

• Experience in sourcing pricing from subcontractors and suppliers across multiple trades.

• Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, and capability to work autonomously.

• **Nice to Have:**

• Experience with WonderBuild or comparable estimating/project management software.

• Qualification in Quantity Surveying (QS) or equivalent experience.

• Background in Australian residential construction projects.

• Familiarity with prefabricated or modular construction.

• Exposure to social housing, aged care, or government-funded construction initiatives.
