Estimator – AI-Augmented, UK Construction Estimating

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Create comprehensive construction cost estimates and prepare tender pricing submissions.

• Analyze architectural and construction drawings alongside specifications.

• Conduct quantity take-offs and accurately assess project requirements.

• Evaluate project scope and identify potential cost risks or omissions.

• Validate and perform quality checks on AI-generated estimates and take-offs.

• Utilize professional judgment to spot pricing discrepancies, logic errors, or missing information.

• Engage directly with contractors, builders, and project stakeholders to clarify project needs.

• Maintain estimating databases and keep pricing information up to date.

• Contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives within the estimating process.

• Collaborate effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of practical experience in construction estimating or quantity surveying.

• Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, take-offs, and pricing methodologies.

• Proven experience in preparing estimates for residential, commercial, or mixed-use construction projects.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Keen attention to detail and strong commercial awareness.

• Comfortable communicating with UK-based contractors and construction professionals via phone and email.

• Ability to work independently and effectively manage workload in a remote setting.

• Positive attitude towards technology, AI, and process automation.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
