This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee client relationships alongside senior wealth advisors, acting as the internal estate planning strategic partner and subject matter expert for Regis families.
• Sustain and expand a portfolio of Regis clients, particularly families with balance sheets often exceeding $100M.
• Direct a specialized team of estate strategists focused on ultra-high-net-worth clients and operational support specialists to ensure exceptional client outcomes.
• Collaborate with in-house interdisciplinary experts and external advisors to incorporate advanced estate planning strategies into broader financial frameworks.
• Facilitate new client acquisition through meetings with prospective clients, participation in industry conferences, and the creation of thought leadership content and publications.
• Work with Regis leadership to enhance and expand the service and operational model, technology infrastructure, and organizational design.
• Create and execute comprehensive estate plans utilizing advanced wealth transfer strategies, including irrevocable and revocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and funding-related documentation.
• Conduct multi-generational planning discussions that encompass family governance, heir education, trustee selection, and succession design for closely held businesses.
• Provide guidance on complex estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax strategies, while identifying planning opportunities and legislative risks.
• Develop and implement intricate Family Limited Liability Companies (FLLCs) and other business structures, covering formation, entity selection, succession planning, buy/sell agreements, and business tax strategies.
• Offer advice on trust administration, trust modification and decanting strategies, as well as navigation of trustee/beneficiary conflicts.
• Prepare and review deeds, real property transfer documents, and federal and state estate and gift tax returns.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in at least one state.
• 15+ years of legal experience in estate planning, primarily with clients holding balance sheets of $25M or more.
• Significant experience working with families valued at $100M or more is essential.
• Extensive technical expertise in federal transfer tax law, trust and estate administration, and advanced wealth transfer planning techniques.
• Proficiency in interpreting and clearly communicating complex estate planning subjects to wealth management teams and clients.
• Experience in advising on business succession, liquidity events such as IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, and the estate planning implications of closely held business interests.
• Previous experience in a private wealth department at an AmLaw 100/200 firm or a nationally recognized estate planning boutique.
• Comfort in a team-oriented financial advisory setting and within a regulated Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) environment.
• Prior experience in a family office, wealth management firm, or multi-family office is a valuable asset.
• Availability Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional early or late hours required.
• Ability to lift no more than 10 lbs.
