This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Analyze realistic scenarios related to imports and exports in accordance with Mexican customs legislation.

• Develop reference solutions for tariff classification exercises and regulatory compliance.

• Document the technical and regulatory reasoning that supports each decision.

• Review and validate alternative solutions from an expert perspective, ensuring their technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.

• Identify missing information, incorrect assumptions, or inappropriate working sequences.

• Reference, when applicable, the Customs Law, LIGIE, TIGIE, NOMs, RRNA, T-MEC, and other relevant provisions.

• Collaborate with the project team to ensure that expert knowledge is properly documented.

• Contribute to reference materials for advanced multilingual artificial intelligence systems focused on customs compliance and international trade.


⛳️ Requirements

• 3 or more years of recent practical experience in customs agency, tariff classification, international trade compliance, import/export operations, or related fields.

• Current or recent practical experience within the last two years in Mexican customs operations.

• One or more of the following profiles: Customs Agent, Tariff Classifier, International Trade Specialist, Customs Compliance Specialist, Import and Export Compliance Professional, or International Trade Consultant.

• Professional proficiency in Spanish.

• Ability to clearly explain and document the technical and regulatory basis for regulatory and classification decisions.

• Experience in tariff classification, LIGIE/TIGIE, T-MEC, NOMs, and RRNA, customs valuation, rules of origin, customs declarations, VUCEM, and compliance audits in international trade will be valued.

• Experience using official resources such as ANAM, SAT, SNICE, or VUCEM will be valued.

• Experience with international trade platforms is welcome but not a requirement.

• Functional English to understand project instructions and communicate with the team.

• Knowledge of U.S. customs regulations, HTS classification, or cross-border trade processes between Mexico and the U.S. will be valued.
