This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee real estate escrow transactions by setting up escrow accounts, managing funds, processing closing documents, and finalizing settlements.
• Identify closing prerequisites from instructions provided by the buyer, seller, and lender.
• Clear titles and request title reports for the issuance of title insurance.
• Address title defects and resolve liens and encumbrances.
• Create escrow accounts, deposit funds, and maintain comprehensive records.
• Prepare, gather, and examine transaction documents, forms, and statements.
• Compute prorated taxes and interest.
• Review closing documents with involved parties, clarify provisions and procedures, address inquiries, ensure accuracy, and secure signatures.
• Record and file documents, and distribute final closing statements along with the title.
• Create settlement statements in accordance with lender instructions.
• Balance and distribute funds, and finalize escrow accounts.
• Adhere to regulatory standards and company policies.
• Keep job knowledge current through education, professional publications, networking, and participation in professional organizations.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience is necessary.
• Previous experience directly managing escrow transactions as an escrow assistant is preferred.
• Valid licensing/certification as mandated by the applicable state.
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the escrow/title sector.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong client relations and organizational abilities.
• Capability to write reports and correspondence effectively.
• Ability to communicate effectively in front of groups of customers or employees.
• Proficient in calculating discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Detail-oriented and professional; capable of handling confidential information.
• Ability to collaborate with real estate sellers, buyers, agents, and brokers.
