This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• Manage real estate escrow transactions by setting up accounts, overseeing funds, processing closing documentation, and finalizing settlements.
• Identify closing requirements based on instructions from the buyer, seller, and lender.
• Request title reports and address any title defects, liens, or encumbrances.
• Create escrow accounts, deposit funds, and keep accurate records.
• Prepare, gather, review, organize, and clarify transaction and closing documents.
• Calculate prorated taxes and interest.
• Secure signatures and ensure the completeness and accuracy of documents.
• Record and file documents, and distribute final closing statements and titles.
• Generate settlement statements following lender instructions.
• Reconcile and close escrow accounts, followed by fund disbursement.
• Adhere to regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Enhance job knowledge through educational opportunities, publications, networks, and professional organizations.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience.
• Preferably experience directly managing escrow transactions as an escrow assistant.
• Valid licensing/certification as mandated by the applicable state.
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the escrow/title sector.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong client relations and organizational capabilities.
• Competence in writing reports and correspondence.
• Ability to communicate effectively before groups of clients or employees.
• Skill in calculating discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Detail-oriented and professional; capable of managing confidential information.
• Ability to interact with real estate sellers, buyers, agents, and brokers.
