This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• The OFCI Equipment Procurement Manager for Data Centers is accountable for the technical and commercial procurement of Owner-Furnished, Contractor-Installed (OFCI) equipment intended for mission-critical data center facilities.
• This role guarantees that long-lead, high-reliability power and cooling equipment satisfies rigorous performance, redundancy, and availability standards while synchronizing procurement timelines with construction, commissioning, and go-live objectives.
• This position reports directly to the Procurement Manager EU Team Lead and operates remotely, supporting geographically diverse projects for the organization.
• Collaborate with data center design, engineering, and construction teams to define the scope of OFCI equipment.
• Review and verify technical specifications, single-line diagrams, layouts, and equipment datasheets in partnership with data center design, engineering, and construction teams.
• Ensure adherence to data center design standards, including Tier levels, redundancy, fault tolerance, and uptime objectives.
• Oversee technical clarifications, deviations, and vendor compliance documentation.
• Issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for essential data center infrastructure equipment.
• Lead technical and commercial bid assessments in collaboration with engineering stakeholders.
• Organize vendor technical interviews and design alignment workshops.
• Negotiate contracts that encompass performance guarantees, availability, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) requirements, delivery timelines, and warranties.
• Manage the procurement and delivery of long-lead, mission-critical equipment, including electrical and mechanical systems.
• Supervise vendor engineering, manufacturing, and testing schedules.
• Develop logistics strategies for oversized and critical equipment while coordinating international shipping and customs clearance.
• Monitor long-lead items and procurement efforts on the project's critical path, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study (such as Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, etc.) or an equivalent combination of experience and technical training.
• Over 5 years of experience in technical procurement or engineering related to data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Demonstrated experience in procuring long-lead, high-reliability OFCI equipment.
• Strong comprehension of critical power and cooling systems.
• Experience with Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), commissioning, and contractor coordination.
