Equipment, Geologic Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Ensure that all scientific field methods and sampling are executed to the utmost standards.

• Assist in daily field operations, including the operation and upkeep of vehicles, UTVs, and light mechanical tools and equipment.

• Mobilize safely, efficiently, and independently to remote field locations while collecting high-quality data.

• Operate effectively in challenging and diverse environments, such as heat, cold, rain, snow, and other demanding conditions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the U.S.

• Possess a valid driver's license with no major violations in the last three years. A CDL is preferred and will result in an automatic pay increase.

• Strong dedication to personal and team safety.

• Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and professionalism.

• High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.

• Self-driven with the capability to work independently in small, remote teams.

• Willing to commute long distances (300+ miles) and engage in extended field rotations (14 days).

• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions at a rapid operational pace.

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred.

• Physically capable of performing strenuous tasks, including bending, kneeling, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds.

• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure safe and effective execution of duties.

• Strong mechanical and technical skills, with experience in operating and maintaining field vehicles and equipment (including large diesel trucks, UTVs, and trailers).

• Skilled in GPS usage and navigation in remote settings.

• Proficient with computers, particularly within the Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Directories).

• Maintains clean and organized work habits and adheres to good housekeeping standards.
