This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Analyzes workflow, recommends solutions, and implements application solutions tailored to departmental needs.
• Converts departmental requirements into business functional specifications.
• Executes various tasks associated with Epic and other information technology applications as required.
• Aids in the design, development, system configuration, implementation, and support of assigned Epic applications within the organization.
• Oversees planning, training, and evaluation of application functionalities.
• Collaborates with the team and key stakeholders to ensure effective training development and implementation of application features.
• Conducts comprehensive analysis of workflows, data collection, report specifics, and technical issues related to Epic software.
• Assesses end users’ preferences while making decisions regarding system configurations and evaluates business operations as they pertain to these decisions.
• Constructs and maintains Epic application content as assigned by the department lead or manager.
• Keeps updated with new application features and enhancements.
• Adheres to functional specification documents to generate content within the Epic application.
• Performs thorough unit testing of all builds prior to transition for functional and/or integrated testing.
• Documents and escalates system issues through the internal chain of command; communicates with vendors when necessary.
• Assists in populating databases during the initial system setup with guidance from Epic.
• Gathers information about potential system improvements and functionality requirements.
• Prepares detailed specifications as necessary.
• Evaluates data conversion requirements and ensures that data received through interfaces into an Epic application fulfills business needs.
• Develops and documents project team procedures for implementing system modifications and other assignments.
• Establishes processes and protocols for change control within the system.
• Engages in the development and delivery of training for end users.
• Assists end users in troubleshooting issues and addressing inquiries.
• Collaborates with report writers to ensure that the application includes essential reports.
• Prioritizes and implements requested system changes and analyzes new functionalities in releases to determine optimal usage.
• Maintains consistent communication with Epic representatives and collaborates with Epic representatives and GHS' end user community to ensure the system aligns with organizational needs.
• Provides end user support during implementation, acting as an application expert to facilitate application roll-out.
• Utilizes strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities to identify, articulate, and resolve system issues, maximizing system potential.
• Undertakes additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Services, Health Administration, Business Administration, Health Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience with Epic or integrated EMR systems.
• Epic Module Certification as mandated by the position.
• Alternatively, an Associate degree in Computer Science or a related field with four (4) years of relevant Information Technology experience in a Business Computer Science or healthcare environment may be considered.
• Alternatively, a High School Diploma or equivalent combined with seven (7) years of related Information Technology experience in a business, computer science, or healthcare setting may be acceptable.
• Alternatively, one (1) year of Epic build and/or support experience may be taken into account.
