This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +4 more states.
• Oversee our technology and data resilience initiatives, collaborating with Forrester research teams, including technology executives, technology strategy, and executive partner teams to curate a comprehensive research portfolio that enhances customer satisfaction and drives revenue growth.
• Gain an in-depth understanding of the requirements for Forrester clients to thrive as technology executives and leaders.
• Perform primary research (interviews, surveys, briefings) focusing on: 1) practices and trends across various technology resilience domains (technology, platforms, practices, and key partners) and 2) how resilience leaders provide services to internal clients.
• Leverage this research to assist clients in overcoming resilience challenges by offering insights on the future of work, cost optimization, investment prioritization, and long-term technology strategy.
• Conduct thorough analysis of contemporary technology resilience across major platform domains, including cloud platforms, mission-critical SaaS, enterprise applications, AI systems, etc.
• Produce high-quality, actionable, analytically rigorous, and fact-based research content throughout the year, delivering approximately 12 comprehensive reports and creating additional intellectual property (tools, webinars, videos, etc.) annually.
• Increase visibility for his/her research and contribute to Forrester client communities and beyond.
• Spearhead key Forrester Waves and Landscape research in resilience and storage-related domains.
• Consult with clients to apply Forrester’s research within the context of their specific business environments and help them address their challenges through inquiry, guidance, and advisory and consulting engagements.
• Present at Forrester-sponsored and industry-related events, as well as deliver client webinars.
• Establish a presence in the industry as a prominent speaker and thinker; cultivate relationships with journalists covering the sector and engage in vendor briefings and field press inquiries as necessary.
• Assist in business development and prospect discussions as coordinated by Forrester’s account leadership teams.
• Promote a leadership approach that encourages a culture of cross-team collaboration, mentorship, integrity, and a relentless pursuit of positive outcomes.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a combination of director-level and above roles as a practitioner, consultant, or research analyst in technology.
• Proven capability to serve as an advisor to senior management and C-level clients.
• Excellent client-facing communication, listening, critical thinking, and collaboration skills with researchers, subject matter experts, and client leaders.
• Strong technical background across major enterprise platforms, such as cloud, storage, resilience, backup, infrastructure, and security.
• Profound understanding of the following concepts and industry best practices: site reliability engineering (SRE), National Incident Management System (NIMS), National Response Framework (NRF), availability zones, ISO 22301, NIST SP 800-34, blameless retrospectives, CAST, fault injection, proactive and continuous testing, business impact analysis, immutability, and tabletop exercises.
• Ability to comprehend modern resilience concepts and the skill sets of SREs and senior resilience leaders.
• Capacity to distill complex, varied ideas into straightforward, compelling concepts; readiness to take a definitive stance on outcomes with clients, vendors, press, and competitors.
• A robust record of academic excellence.
• Exceptional analytical, writing, editing, and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel 30% of the time or more.
